Rally at Parliment Hill for Canadian woman in Mexican jail Saturday, March 29, 2008 - 10:05 PM By: 680News staff Supporters of Brenda Martin, the Canadian woman jailed for more than two years in Mexico, rallied on Parliament Hill today. Among her supporters were Cheryl Everall and Kimberly Kim, two Thunder Bay women who were accused in the double murder of a Woodbridge couple two years ago in Mexico. Everall told a Conservative MP at the rally that the Tories will be held responsible if something bad happens to Martin. She also says that it is an absolute injustice that this is happening. Martin herself called the rally from prison, and spoke tearfully with her mother on a cellphone, again pleading for Prime Minister Stephen Harper to take direct action in her case. |
