Stories in Sound, an audio documentary workshop and contest sponsored by CHRW offers $300 in prizes and a chance to make a five to ten minute audio documentary. “Campus and community radio stations like CHRW have a unique opportunity to create great talk radio, including audio documentaries,” says station manager Grant Stein. “We have a lot of creative freedom that can translate into innovative talk programming you won't hear on commercial talk stations or the CBC.” The short documentaries will be judged by a panel of CHRW staff and volunteers, community members and faculty from The University of Western Ontario’s journalism program. Documentaries will be judged on strength of story, originality and creative use of sound. The top three winning entries will be broadcast on the station. |
