A disposable e-mail address for whenever you need it. Pick a name, add @mailinator.com, and send a message — it's automatically created. No sign-up, no passwords, and a lot less spam in your real e-mail's inbox. We've all been there. You go to check out a website only to find they "require a valid e-mail" for you to get on. And although most sites are honest, there are a few bad apples out there who want to sell your information and stuff your inbox so full of spam your legitimate e-mails get bounced back to their senders. But now you can feel safe giving any website your e-mail address, without worrying about getting those urgent notes from [insert son of deposed king of random country here]. Just pick any username up to 25 characters and add @mailinator.com. As soon as the website sends out an e-mail, Mailinator creates the address and stores the message. Then visit Mailinator.com, type in your username, and check the inbox. That's it. The e-mails are automatically deleted after several hours. Note: Mailinator addresses are also good for giving to that creepy person at the bank who keeps asking for your e-mail (just make sure they don't know what Mailinator is before you give it to them — but even if they do, Mailinator provides several different domain names you can use to throw them off track). Just don't try to use it--or any other disposable email to join this or any other forum /community . As soon as most admins (myself included) see it they'll think spammer and ban you on the spot . |
